'fenced angel' original collage

as a declaration of ambition the artist has endeavored to produce 52 cut paper collages before the end of 2026. this piece represents the 28th collage in the series.

as the year progresses the finished art from some will surely go towards shirts or prints or to use by bands, but at present the objective is to omit any works produced specifically as band/brand commissions from the 52 tally. not all collages within the series will be made available for purchase.

this original “fenced angel” piece was constructed in the same manner as all other GIVE UP works: assembled from original photographs shot by the artist that have been manipulated and re-sized on a photocopier for contrast and toner degradation. the respective elements then hand collaged using scissors and glue. fine details and shadows added in ink and china marker. spatter background/foreground in black aerosol enamel. border hand drawn in marker. signed, dated, and numbered in pencil on reverse.

this particular work is composed from 7 photos shot at disparate times in michigan, texas, and finland. cut apart and reassembled in 8 pieces.

presented framed under glass in a black frame with black mat, ready to hang (in-frame photos shot with glass removed to prevent any glare in documentation. final piece ships with glass intact). collage image area measures 9.7.5" x 7.25", affixed to 11” x 8.5” acid free 100 lb white card stock. total presentation in frame measures 14” high x 11” wide x 0.625” deep.
